Ultimate Deer Camp
Pioneer is excited to announce the construction of the "Ultimate Deer Camp" for Canada in the Rough. Construction has been under way for twelve weeks here at out facilities in Williams Lake, British Columbia; and delivery and re-erection in Milton, Ontario took place on November 5, 2009.
Sean Ovaitt and Sam Peterson from Pioneer's elite team arrived and set the logs up in record time. Windows, doors, and cabinets were supplied and installed by MasterCraft / Century Glass from Kamloops, British Columbia. MasterCraft continues to surpass the rest of their industry on quality custom craftsmanship, delivery on time and budget.
Earlier back in June 2009, the Pioneer Family had a chance to meet Thomas Pigeon from CITR. Thomas spent three days in beautiful Willliams Lake and was introduced to all the Pioneer Group including craftsmen, designers, the timber harvesting division and family members alike. Brother David Chevigny graced Thomas' presence at the incredible Horsefly Lake where Thomas was able to hook a sizable lake char.
The conversations began as to how CITR and Pioneer could work together to build Canada's Ultimate Deer Camp. Roy Keats, Donna Fitzel, and Mike Jacobson from Pioneer's elite design and sales teams took off on a dead run with conceptual drawings and ideas to pull the project together. From there, the team got the MasterCraft / Century Glass group together for input and finalization on cabinets, windows, doors and interior layout. Thomas' discussions with the Pioneer team always lead to the importance of a theme, "It should first and foremost feel like a hunting cabin." Well a hunting cabin it is!!! With giant Western Red Cedar logs and log benches, intricate carvings and Pioneer's one of a kind craftsmanship, The Ultimate Deer Camp even has a "hillbilly porch", bringing the outdoor activities undercover.
Pioneer's attention to detail and reputation for pushing the limits of Logitecture is evident in any structure they build large or small. Canada in the Rough / Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia Ltd., The Ultimate Deer Camp is no exception!!
On the last and final day, while Thomas was here hack in June, the whole Pioneer team got together ad Andre and Wendy's beautiful Pioneer Log Home. Dinner was steak and baked potatoes, served with red wine and all the trimmings. The evening was preceded with Thomas telling stories of adventures and hunting trips with family and friends.

The Pioneer Group prides themeselves as outdoorsmen. We have found that from our earliest beginnings, it was not about the hunting or fishing, it's about spending time with family and friends, one on one. After all, when is the opportunity ever going to come up to have a child or teenager all to yourself, inspiring conversation, respect, and family values. This is the true meaning of what it is to be an outdoorsman.

Keep your eyes out for updated pictures and comments on our website. Canada in the Rough will air "Canada's Ultimate Deer Camp" on December 27, 2009 on global and Wild TV. We look forward to a long lasting relationship that will give both parties opportunities to explore Canada and the outdoors.
