Our Process

We start by seasoning and air-drying each and every log to control shrinkage and checking. This results in very little maintenance and adjustment for your family's home. Each log is hand-peeled at our building sites using a drawknife, and is then precisely dimensioned and fitted for the best in performance and character.

Your timbers and roof system are then strategically placed into your custom design. The joinery is a true work of art, finished with an age-old European process. Each log or timber is honed to perfection, ensuring artistry and personality for generations to come.

Preliminary construction of every Pioneer log shell package takes place on the company sites in Williams Lake. Log ends are carved for additional effect in a rugged Alaskan finish, smooth-faced Yukon finish or gentle timber arches. Once every detail is honed to perfection and the log-only structure is complete, the logs are tagged and transported to your building site. There, every log is reassembled along with the finishing touches, including windows, doors, cabinetry, and more.

Century MasterCraft Cabinets, Windows and Doors provide the perfect balance of eye-catching beauty and innovative installation for many of our log homes. From glass-panel doors, customer carvings, etched and stained glass, metal clad or copper clad exterior window trim, and the grandest of entries, everything is possible with Century MasterCraft.

In the end, every exacting detail comes together in your very own Pioneer log home that will feel as if it always belonged exactly where it stands - to boldly face time, withstand the elements, and warmly greet your family for generations to come.
