The Tl'etinqox Church
Fact Sheet
- The first contact was made by former Chief Gerald Johnny, Bishop Monroe and Father Andréw L'Herueux on May 20, 2007
- The Designer was Roy Keats of Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia
- The Project Engineer was Ernie Karjczar
- The delivery and setup of the log structure started on May 19, 2009 for the log and timber reassembly
- Chief Joseph Alphonse, Father Andréw L'Heureux and Bishop David Monroe were in attendance as the trucks rolled in with the structure
- The Log & Timber builders were: Sean Oviatt, Peter Arnold, Luke Reimer, Beat Schwaller, Nathan Hornby, Dean Gilpin, Bryan Reid Sr., Wilbrun Jim, Gerry Jack, Waylon Lulua, Thomas Lutz, Tom Gebauer, Joel Roorda, Dale Quilt, Allan Stusrude, Justin Davis, Wilfred Aksidan, Martin Kalin, Brett Douglas, and André Chevigny
- The church's bell make-over and repair was by Peter Arnold, Joel Roorda and Gerald Weingart who donated 100% of their time to the repair
Note: This particular bell is being mounted at its third Church at Tl'etinqox Village

Before the steeple was mounted the Nuns came to bless the bell and the builders

When the bell was rung for the first time a Sister Eileen with 40 years of service in Tl'etinqox Village came to hear the bell her enthusiasm was obvious and very touching

The children of the local school would come with the Nuns and watch the construction progress they were very friendly to the builders

- On any given day there were up to 60 people watching the reassembly of the church
- The delivery and setup of the log structure started on May 19, 2009 for the log and timber reassembly
- Chief Joe Alphonse and Elders, band members and the Tl'etinqox Village witnessed the reassembly of the log structure
- A huge sense of community pride is apparent throughout the community as the elders would come and watch the progress revealing to the builders how really important the church is to the community
- The flow of traffic was never ending as community members would drive around the structure, as it sits in the middle of their community to see the progress
- The builders felt a great sense of accomplishment when they saw how interested and meaningful it was to the children in the community to have their church back
- Pioneer Log Homes President, Bryan Reid Sr. went to take part for the full week with the reassembly crew to be a part of this incredible event.
- 4 Loads of Western Red Cedar logs, standing dead Lodge Pole Pine log rafters and Yellow Cedar tower components and cross were delivered.
