Timber Kings: Peter

He may look serious, but don’t let him fool you! The prankster Peter is full of surprises! We’re just under 2 weeks away from the premier of Timber Kings Season Two – January 4th, 2015 at 10PM ET|PT on HGTV Canada.

Q: When did you start working at Pioneer Log Homes?
A: I started with Pioneer Log Homes on June 4, 1994 at 6:00am.
Q: Have you always wanted to be a “Timber King”? When did you first know that this was what you wanted to do?
A: I always knew I liked working with wood. Wood has personality, character and is warm – if you listen it talks to you.
Q: It’s safe to say that since the show aired, many young men and women are now aspiring to become “Timber Kings” themselves. What advice would you offer to them?
A: If you show respect to the wood (doesn’t matter if it is log, timber or a 2×4) it will make you happy. Wood is forgiving and kind.
Q: If you had to choose one favourite thing about what we do here, what would it be?
A: Have the chainsaw as a precise machine.
Q: Of all the builds you’ve done, do you have a favourite? How about one that challenged you most?
A: There are too many to have a favorite. Most challenging build: The biggest house Pioneer has ever done. 100,000 square foot house – that gave me a few grey hairs.
Q: How has your life changed since the premiere of Timber Kings?
A: I am still Peter and I will always stay Peter. You cannot change Peter but everything around Peter changed.
Q: Tell us about your saw of choice!
A: One that works, runs and has gas in it.
Q: When you aren’t busy being a Timber King, how do you like to spend your time?
A: I love camping, hiking, working on my shop, watching my daughter and son play sports, sitting & enjoying a glass of wine with my wife and when there is time left, I love BBQ’ing & cooking.
