About Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia

There's something special about the way we design every structure and painstakingly handcraft every detail to deliver your log home on time, on budget, and in balance with nature's perfection. In all, our builders and designers take great pride in a job well done, knowing the homes we craft and the forests we help sustain will stand the test of time - to be enjoyed for many generations and centuries to come.

Our History
Bryan Reid Sr. established Pioneer Log Homes of BC in 1973. The new business owner chose an opportunistic location to open up shop; he decided on Williams Lake, British Columbia, thanks to its proximity to a seemingly endless supply of top notch Spruce, Fir and Western Red Cedar.

As the business grew, so did the family support. Several members joined Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia, including his brother and Master Craftsman André Chevigny, and David Chevigny, a founder of Pioneer Logging. Son Bryan Reid Jr. trained under both André and Bryan Sr. to become a Master Craftsman, now overseeing operations at the Pioneer 153 Mile site. Keith Reid joined the family business too; he created MasterCraft, which provided custom cabinets, windows and doors for many of our customers for more than 30 years. After Keith retired in 2008, Century/Mastercraft formed to ensure our cherished customers would still receive the superior products they had been accustomed to.

Pioneer Log Homes of BC has been fortunate to have several members outside the family join our team, and possess the same passion we have. Artisans include Peter Arnold and Joel Rorda, both heading our Williams Lake Division, Beat Schwaller carves many of the amazing wood sculptures found in our homes, and Sam Peterson heading the Soda Creek Division. Additionally, Roy, Donna and Don lead our elite design team while Gary and Mike in our sales department look after each client as if they were building homes for their own families.

Today, various critics around the world have recognized Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia as a state-of-the-art, handcrafted log building company. We strive to set standards within our industry, while continually searching for new ways to improve each product.
